Homo.net one since 1996, online community for homosexuals . Homo.net serves as a supraregional contact portal and information portal for gay , bisexual and transsexual men in German-speaking countries. The offer can be used free of charge in all areas. The offer is financed by sponsors and banner advertising .

Gay scene guide

Since July 2000, the scene guide has been offering addresses of homosexual associations, initiatives, advisory services as well as meeting points and cruising areas. The scene guide is based on the voluntary cooperation of the users who introduce changes and take care of the editorial. In October 2008 the Schwule City Guide was spun off into an independent project under the name gay-szene.net.

Gay Lexicon

Since July 2008 the homo.net portal has been supplemented by a gay glossary of terms . This project aims to explain the terms used in the gay scene in the contact areas . All terms used in the classifieds are compared with the Homolex Index and the definition is automatically linked to the ad text. In June 2015, the gay lexicon was spun off into an independent project under the name homolex.com.

History of homo.net

The gay online community was in 1996 from the gay Oscar Wilde bookstore Frankfurt out as homo.de founded. The homo.de project was recognized by the Frankfurt Book Fair in 1999 as the best themed bookstore on the German-speaking Internet for its range of products and the use of community services for the gay community. As a result of the cooperation with the English Gay Times publisher Millivres Prowler Group , an internationalization of the portal under the new name homo.net started in 2000 for a short time.

Studies
