Honda Türkiye

Honda Türkiye A.Ş. is an automobile manufacturer based in Gebze, Turkey and a subsidiary of Honda .

history

Çelik Motor (a company of the Anadolu Group ) has been selling Honda vehicles in Turkey since 1986 .

In 1992 the joint venture Anadolu Honda Otomobilcilik A.Ş. founded, in which the Anadolu Group and Honda each had a 50% stake.

In 1996 the foundation stone was laid for their own factory, in which production began in late 1997 and early 1998. In 2002, Honda took over the stake in the Anadolu Group. In the same year motorcycle production in Turkey was ended.

Between 2002 and 2006, annual production rose from around 5,400 to more than 18,000 vehicles.

Models

The Civic has been manufactured as the first model since 1998 . The production covers most of the EU market. Production of the City started in December 2005, but was discontinued in 2016.
