Hong Jin-ho (born October 31, 1982 in Daejeon ) nicknamed "YellOw" is a former South Korean professional computer gamer .
Career
Hong was best known for his success in StarCraft: Brood War , in which he played the Zerg race. He played under the nickname "YellOw". He played most of his career for the works team of the Korean telecommunications provider Korea Telecom , the KTF MagicNs (later renamed KT Rolster).
In the OnGameNet Starleague he reached second place on the Coca-Cola OSL in 2001 . In 2002 he finished second at the World Cyber Games . The most successful year as an e-athlete followed in 2005. He won at BlizzCon and in the Snickers All-Star League. In the latter tournament, Hong won 22 million South Korean won . In April 2005, Hong had around 200,000 fans.
From 2008 to 2010 he completed the mandatory military service in South Korea with the South Korean Air Force , where he was a member of the Air Force ACE team .
In 2011 he ended his active career as a StarCraft player. Since then, he has appeared regularly in various South Korean entertainment programs on television .
