Hong Junsheng (洪 均 生) (born March 30, 1907 in what was then Yu County, now Yuzhou City , in the Henan Province of the Chinese Empire ; † January 23, 1996 in Jinan , Shandong Province of the People's Republic of China ) was a Chinese Taijiquan master. He belongs to the 10th generation of the Chen style .

Career

After Hong Junsheng moved to Beijing with his father at a young age , he started looking for a Taijiquan teacher. Exercising should help improve his health. The first thing he met was Master Liu Musan, from whom he was tutored in the Wu style . Later there was an encounter with Chen Fake , in which the great superiority of his Chen style over Master Liu's Wu Taijiquan became apparent. Impressed by the demonstration, Master Liu transferred his students to Chen Fake's school in 1930.

Chen Fake taught Hong Junsheng as his master student from 1930 to 1944 without a break. Through this training he enjoyed good health and achieved a great understanding and skill in Taijiquan. In 1944, Hong returned to Jinan , Shandong Province, where he deepened what he had learned and passed it on to his growing student population. In 1956 Hong went to Beijing again to see Master Chen to refine the applications of the style. Then he went back to Jinan and taught there until his death.
