About the album
Musical content
As the title of the album suggests, Ka tells his story of his life in which he tries like a samurai to lead an honest, humble and honorable life and does not attach any importance to money. But real life would prevent such a way of life, he would be forced to ignore the virtues of a samurai for money, he would have to kill people and sell drugs and even if he regretted these things he had no other chance. He has to do these things to survive. In today's world, however, you would not be able to survive as a samurai, so the title of the album is Honor Killed The Samurai .
Cover
The cover is kept in simple black and white colors. The outline of a head can be seen in black, and the hilt of a sword can also be made out. The handle is written in Japanese Kanji 名誉 (pronounced “meiyo”), which means “honor” in German. The background is white, the album title is printed in capital letters and in black. "KA" can be read in white at the bottom right margin.

Stefan Johannesberg from laut.de praised Ka's texts, which in his opinion are very poetic. Ka albums would always serve "all brain turns" and touch the soul. "Total concentration" is required of the listener, and every song has a " B-movie with cult status" character.
Juice editor Carlos Steurer compared Ka to Killer Mike and believes that if Killer Mike's albums go platinum, Ka will be “at least an English professor”. Ka's lyrics are better than those of his colleagues Pusha T , Roc Marciano and Earl Sweatshirt . Ka prayed down his cryptic lines "oppressed nasally" and made use of biblical images, his rap was "gospel" in the purest sense. With Honor Killed the Samurai, Ka has now reached “samurai level” and deserves a literary award for his underrated albums.
The Rolling Stone magazine lists Honor Killed the Samurai to 19th place of the "40 best rap albums of the year 2016", at the website HipHopDX , however, the album reached the 14th place of the "20 best rap albums of the year 2016" .
