Honorat Peyer im Hof (born May 6, 1716 in Lucerne ; † June 23, 1785 ) was librarian at the St. Gallen Monastery from 1741 to 1742 .

Life

Honorat, baptized Karl Dominik, Peyer im Hof ​​was born as the son of Josef Leopold and Margaretha Pfiffer. He made his profession on May 8, 1729 in St. Gallen . On June 7, 1732 he became a subdeacon and on June 19, 1734 a deacon . He became a priest on March 17, 1736, with the primacy on April 8. Honorat became a sub-librarian as early as 1738. Three years later, on June 14, 1741, he was given supervision of the monastery’s own bookbinding and printing shop. He was also head of the library. On November 8, 1741, he was also a third pastor or shadow pastor, as this office was also called. On January 3rd, 1743 he was appointed minister pastor. On October 23 of the same year he took over the office of Vestiarius until November 29, 1745, when he was appointed as master of corn and builder. In addition, he was appointed on December 3, 1747 as a Hebrew professor for four fratres of the St. Gallen monastery.
