Honshū Kagaku Kōgyō KK ( Japanese 本州 化学 工業 株式会社 , ~ Kabushiki-gaisha , German " Chemical Company Honshū", English Honshu Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. ) is a Japanese chemical company on the main island of Honshū .

The company was founded in Wakayama in 1914 and built the first benzene distillation plant in Japan and soon afterwards also produced aniline . Today it is a manufacturer of fine chemicals .

In Bitterfeld , Honshū Kagaku Kōgyō runs a joint venture with Bayer AG for the production of specialty bisphenols .
