history

hoorai was founded on July 1st, 2006 and took on teams in Counter-Strike, Quake, FIFA and Warcraft III over the course of a month. In October 2006 the Finnish Counter-Strike team traveled to Beijing ( KODE5 Global Finals , 3rd place), London ( WSVG UK , 2nd place) and finally Monza , where hoorai took third place at the World Cyber Games .

In the same year, the German FIFA player Kai "deto" Wollin was voted Most Valuable Player and Rookie of the Season of the Team League in the ninth season of the ESL Pro Series . He finished the solo players league in his first season in third place behind the two FIFA Twins . He then moved to mousesports , but returned to hoorai in 2008.

At the end of 2006, the contract negotiations with the Counter-Strike players, who were considered one of the five best teams in the world at the time, failed. The separation caused hoorai to part with all foreign players and to focus on Germany from 2007 onwards. Since then, hoorai has placed teams in Counter-Strike and FIFA in the ESL Pro Series, and since July 2007 also in Counter-Strike: Source.

In October 2007, hoorai also signed a Warcraft III team, which took part in the NGL ONE and the ESL WC3L Series . With an average age of 17.4 years, hoorai was the youngest participant of all time. Nine months later, in July 2008, hoorai separated from the entire team after relegating from the WC3L.

At the beginning of 2008, after two tenth places in the ESL Pro Series in 2007, hoorai signed a new Counter-Strike team around Christian “Blizzard” Chmiel . The expected success did not materialize, however, the team only finished eighth in the twelfth EPS season. The squad was then dismissed and the pod virtual gaming team committed instead . This previously reached the finals of the ESL Pro Series twice in a row. Under the banner of hoorai, only ninth place was taken in the 13th EPS season. In season 14, hoorai finished sixth.

In Counter-Strike: Source, the clan came third and fourth in 2008. In season 14, hoorai finally moved into the finals with a changed squad, but lost to mTw there . Also in season 15, hoorai was German runner-up. In the same season, the CS: S player Nico "sYrox" Strott was voted Most Valuable Player in the team league.

In 2008, FIFA secured the title of EPS runner-up twice in a row. The FIFA player Kai "deto" Wollin was again voted Most Valuable Player of the Team League in the 13th season of the ESL Pro Series . One season later, hoorai finally managed to secure the first EPS championship title. FIFA player Jan “zoOky” Stuber was voted Most Improved Player of the Team League in the 14th season of the ESL Pro Series .

At the beginning of 2010, the clan disbanded due to a takeover by the Competo Sports clan. Hoorai's financing could not be maintained beyond 2009.
