Christian "Blizzard" Chmiel [ ˈkrɪstjan ˈxmjel ] (born January 9, 1984 ) is a former German e-athlete .

Career

Chmiel is a nine-time German champion in the computer game Counter-Strike and has participated in numerous world championships. After a year with Clan a-Losers , he played for mousesports for four years , after which he switched to ID Gaming and, after a short interlude for Team Xilence during the final of the ESL Pro Series 2007, finally to hoorai . In 2008 he interrupted his career for two years after a failed season. In 2011 he played again actively for the clan TBH , in 2012 again for mousesports. With the switch to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive , Chmiel withdrew from esports.

In September 2015, his name became known to a wider audience through a YouTube video in which the German soccer player André Schürrle posed as Chmiel.
