World Series of Video Games
The World Series of Video Games (WSVG) was a global e-Sports Tournament Series. It was founded in 2006 as the unofficial successor to the CPL World Tour , as it was also sponsored by Intel and many of the former CPL employees contributed to it. The host was Games Media Properties . The second World Series of Video Games in 2007 was canceled during the current season and the end of the WSVG was announced on September 12th.
2006
In the first season, Counter-Strike , Warcraft III and Quake 4 were the main disciplines, and there were also tournaments in North America in the Xbox games Project Gotham Racing 3 , Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter and Halo 2 . The total prize money was $ 750,000. There were a total of five stops and one final event.

2007
In 2007 another World Series of Video Games was announced. Quake 4 , Fight Night Round 3 , Guitar Hero II and World of Warcraft were selected as disciplines . The game selection met with amazement in many places. The new WSVG tournaments received little attention in e-sports, almost exclusively Quake 4 and the side tournaments were reported.
On September 12, 2007, after three completed events, the cancellation of the 2007 World Series of Video Games was announced. Games Media Properties stated that hosting the tournament series was not profitable enough.
