The Hope Point ( English for hope tip or tip the hope is) a headland , which the western end of Bertha Iceland in William Scoresby Archipelago off the Mawson coast of the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Lands forms.
The name of the headland apparently goes back to scientists from the British Discovery Investigations , who landed and mapped William Scoresby on Bertha Island with the RRS in February 1936 . The further naming background has not been passed down.
