A hop breaking device , also known as a hop breaking device , is an agricultural machine that is used to harvest the hop vines in the hop garden.

Tear-off device

The tear-off device is attached to the front weight and lower link . At the front, the hop vine is picked up on the ground with two chains and cut off. Then it is guided backwards over the tractor roof. Here the vine, including the climbing wire, is torn from the support frame and falls onto the hop vine wagon. It is driven by a hydraulic motor , which is supplied by the tractor hydraulics .

Hop vine wagon

The hop vine wagon is attached to the trailer coupling. It is a wagon with a scraper floor , which has wing-like side walls on both sides , which are opened to the appropriate width when harvesting in the hop garden and closed again when driving on the road.

To meet

There is also an annual meeting of the hop breaker operators in Untermettenbach .
