Valerian Gwilia ( Georgian ვალერიან გვილია , Ukrainian Валеріане Ярославович Гвілія Valeriane Jaroslawowytsch Hwilija ; born May 24, 1994 in Zugdidi ) is a Georgian - Ukrainian football player .
Career
society
Gwilia played for the second team of Metalurh Zaporischschja until 2015 . In August 2014 he made his debut for the pros from Zaporizhia in the Premjer-Liha when he came on as a substitute for Ihor Schurachowskyj in the 79th minute against FK Dnipro on matchday four of the 2014/15 season . In September 2015, Gwilia scored his first goal in the Ukrainian top division in a 4-1 loss to Dnipro.
After his club was excluded from the league, he moved to Belarus for FK Minsk in January 2016 . In April 2016 he made his debut in the Wyschejschaja Liha when he was in the starting line-up against FK Vitebsk on matchday one of the 2016 season and was replaced by Waleryj Hramyka in the 88th minute . On the following day he scored his first goal in the Belarusian top division in a 3-0 win against FK Dinamo Brest .
After 15 league games for Minsk, Gwilia moved to league rivals BATE Baryssau in July 2016 . With BATE he was two-time Belarusian champion, he also qualified with the club in 2017 for the UEFA Europa League , in which Gwilia was not used.
In January 2018 he moved to Switzerland for FC Luzern , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2020. He played his first game for Lucerne in the Super League against Grasshopper Club Zurich . In March he scored his first goal in the top Swiss league with the winning goal to 1-0 against FC Basel .
He spent the second half of the 2018/19 season on loan from Górnik Zabrze in the Polish Ekstraklasa .
National team
Gwilia made her debut in a friendly against Moldova for the Ukrainian U-21s in June 2015 .
After four games for the Ukrainian U-21 team, he played for the first time for his native Georgia in a U-21 test match against Ukraine in March 2016 .
He made his debut for the Georgian national team in October 2016 when he started a World Cup qualifier against Ireland . In September 2017, he scored his first goal for the Georgian national team in a 1-1 draw against Austria .
