Horlemann publishing house
The Horlemann Verlag is a German publishing house , originally for fiction and non-fiction books since 2020 for children's literature. The Horlemann Verlag was especially known for its translations of Asian, African and Latin American authors. The program also included novels and poetry by European and German authors, non-fiction books on environmental and development policy , but also travel books and materials for school lessons and educational work. In addition, the socially critical magazine EXIT! under the umbrella of Horlemann Verlag, most recently in Berlin and then in Angermünde. Among the authors of the publishing house was the Chinese Nobel Prize for Literature, Mo Yan .
The publishing house was founded in 1990 by Jürgen Horlemann - the author's father-in-law and 2009 Bert Donnepp Prize winner , Torsten Körner - in Bad Honnef . After his death in 1995 his widow Beate Horlemann took over the management of the publishing house; In 2011 the publisher moved to Berlin. The African scientist Anja Schwarz was the owner of the publishing house since the turn of the year 2011/12 . The management and ownership of the German-language literature department (Edition Voss) has been with the Germanist Tim Voss for a short time since 2011 .
The publisher had its own series of poetry since 2012, called LYRIKPAPYRI , editor was Mathias Jeschke . In 2013 the publisher also took over the Hamburg poetry publisher "fixpoetry" from Julietta Fix , who also worked as an editor for Horlemann Verlag.
With its program, the Horlemann Verlag stood for the connection between literature and political commitment.

Since 2020, the children's and youth book authors Iris Lemanczyk and Andreas Kirchgäßner have taken over the traditional publisher's name in order to continue the publishing house in the children's and youth sector, initially with a few titles.
