Andreas Kirchgäßner
Andreas Kirchgäßner (* 1957 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German author for children and young people .
Career
Kirchgäßner completed after his Abitur first a agricultural teaching , and later retrained for a machinist . After extensive trips to Africa , he decided to make a living from and for writing. In 1999 he received a script funding of Media and Film Society Baden-Wuerttemberg for the feature film job sharing . In 2001 his first children's book, Das alten Haus, appeared in the ArsEdition , Munich. This was followed by four more children's books from the series Kangaroo: illustrated stories for learning to read and numerous radio reports about the trance music of the Gnawa , about Sufism and life in Africa. These were broadcast on Deutschlandradio , Hessischer Rundfunk , Saarländischer Rundfunk and SWR , among others . In 2002 his African novel Lost Time was published by demand.verlag literaturbuero, and since then he has worked as a freelance writer and lecturer . Andreas Kirchgäßner is a member of the Association of German Writers (VS). He attends schools in Germany , Switzerland , France and Luxembourg and reads from his works there.
