Horst (geology)

A tectonic eyrie is a clod (hence also clod ) that has been lifted out between almost parallel faults relative to the neighboring clods.

Word origin

Horst is proven in the early miners' language for faults in a seam . It is probably close to the " Horst " as a moor hill.

Emergence

The upheavals or pushes that delimit the eyrie along its length cease to exist. Clumps always appear together with trenches . These structures are one of several typical phenomena caused by strain tectonics . Examples of Horst-Graben structures can be found in mountains in which fractional deformation dominates, such as in Harz , Black Forest and Vosges . An example of regional proportions is the Basin and Range Province in western North America.
