Horst Beer

Horst Beer (* 1958 in Bremerhaven ) is a German dancer , dance sports trainer and choreographer in the field of formation sports (Latin). Horst Beer is the son of a dance teacher (Helmut Beer) and owner of the dance school of the same name in Bremerhaven.

From 1981 to 1986 he and his partner and later wife Andrea Lankenau won the German championship for amateurs in Latin American dances six times in a row and twice in combination. In 1985 he won the European Latin Championship with Andrea Lankenau and the World Amateur Latin Championship held in Bremerhaven .

He then switched to professionals with his dance partner.

Beer was a dancer of the TSG Bremerhaven Latin formation and from 1984 until his resignation on May 21, 2008 their coach. During his coaching days he achieved the following titles with the formation:

  • World champion 1984, 1985, 1987, 1991, 1994, 1995, 2000, 2001, 2007 (2007 shared 1st place with the Green Gold Club Bremen )
  • European champion 1991, 1992, 1995, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002
  • German champion 1984–1985, 1987–1990, 1992, 1994, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2006

From 1999 to the breakup of the formation in early 2004, he also trained the standard formation (A-Team) of TSG Bremerhaven.

Since 2011 he has been the national trainer for Latin for the German Dance Sports Association. From the beginning of 2019 until his resignation on August 31, 2020, he was also the national youth trainer for Latin.
