Horst Behr (born October 9, 1923 ): A former German football player who was active in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of GDR football, in 1952/53 for BSG Motor / Wismut Gera .

Athletic career

In 1952/53, the Gera footballers played their fourth season in the GDR league, initially under the name BSG Motor, from April 1953 as BSG Bismut. The team's line-up included the 28-year-old Horst Behr for the first time, who had not previously appeared in the GDR-wide game. Coach Oskar Büchner already used him in the first league game of Gera, in which he called up Behr in the encounter Motor Zwickau - Motor Gera (1-0) as a half-left striker. Behr also took this position in the second and fourth league games. He then paused until April 1953 and was then used in the last four point games as a center forward. After his last league game Wismut Gera - Motor Jena (2: 2) on May 23, 1953, Horst Behr said goodbye to higher-class football.
