Horst Chmiel
Horst Chmiel (born April 20, 1940 in Königshütte , Upper Silesia ) is a process engineer .
biography
Horst Chmiel studied process engineering at RWTH Aachen University , where he also received his doctorate and habilitation. From 1976–1992 he was director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Bioprocess Engineering in Stuttgart . From 1986–1992 Horst Chmiel was full professor for bioprocess engineering at the University of Stuttgart . From 1992 to 2005 he was Professor of Process Technology at the University of Saarbrücken , and in 2005 he retired .
He is also the scientific director of the Society for Environmentally Compatible Process Technology GmbH (UPT) in Saarbrücken.
