Horst Held

Horst Held (born May 25, 1933 - January 18, 2016 ) was a German fencing master and national trainer.

Life

After several coaching positions, Horst Held came to the Tauberbischofsheim Fecht Club in 1969, especially in southern Germany . There he trained among other successful fencers until 1971 the later world champion in epee fencing Alexander Pusch and until 1976 among other things the future Olympic champion in foil fencing Sabine Bischoff . In 1976, he switched to the fencing department of the newly emerging Federal Training Center North in Hanover as a senior trainer . His students won several German championship titles and a World Cup victory. For many years he was fencing master at the Akademie der Fechtkunst Deutschlands eV As an athlete, he was repeatedly German champion in foil fencing in his age group.

Hero was married.
