Horst Henning
Horst Henning (born March 8, 1937 in Lünen ; † August 31, 1995 in Leverkusen ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and Lord Mayor of Leverkusen from 1984 to 1994.
Life
After attending elementary school, he completed an apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory technician and was foreman after the laboratory technician examination. In 1955 he became a member of the Chemical, Paper and Ceramics trade union . Henning died of cancer in August 1995. He left a wife and two children.
Political party
Henning joined the SPD in 1957.
MP
Henning was councilor of the city of Leverkusen from 1964 to 1994 and chairman of the SPD parliamentary group from 1969 to 1974. He was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from May 28, 1975 until his death on August 31, 1995.
Public offices
He served as mayor from 1979 to 1984 and as lord mayor of Leverkusen from 1984 to 1994.
