People Can Fly , also known at times as Epic Games Poland , is a Polish video game developer founded in 2002 .

Company history

The company was founded in February 2002 under the name People Can Fly in Warsaw . The name comes from a song of the same name by the GOA trance music group Astral Projection and from the film Kalifornia , in which the character Brian Kessler ( David Duchovny ) says: “ When you dream there are no rules, people can fly, anything can happen. “The first own project was the first person shooter Painkiller . However, some employees have been helping to develop games since 1992. The best known of these is Gorky 17 ( Odium in the USA). The team consists of over 20 employees.

People Can Fly was bought by Epic Games in August 2007 . In November 2013, the studio was renamed Epic Games Poland.

On June 24, 2015, People Can Fly announced the split from Epic Games and the return to their original name.
