Gears of War: Judgment is a third-person shooter developed by Epic Games and published by Microsoft Game Studios . However, the title is not a continuation of the Gears of War series, but takes place 15 years before the first part. Release date in the US was March 19, 2013. As before with Gears of War 3 , Epic decided to release the game in Germany uncut. The release date was March 22, 2013.

Gears of War: Judgment takes place 15 years before the first installment in the Gears of War series. The new protagonist is Lt. Damon Baird, who, however, appeared as a supporting character in the previous three parts of the series. Lt. Baird is a member of the Kilo-Swat, a special unit. After several violations (including desertion) of the laws of the Coalition of Governments, he is brought to trial. With Pvt. Augustus "The Cole Train" Cole is another supporting character from the earlier Gears of War titles in Gears of War: Judgment . The protagonists Marcus Fenix ​​and Dominico Santiago from Gears of War 1-3, however, do not appear in the game.

Multiplayer

New multiplayer modes will be added in Gears of War: Judgment . The overrun mode is new. In Overrun, Locust players have to conquer three positions as quickly as possible, while the players of the COG human army have to defend them. Each team of five takes on each side once. The team that takes the points the quickest ultimately wins the game.

On June 4, 2012, Microsoft announced the development of Gears of War: Judgment at E3 2012 . It was also revealed that the title takes place 15 years before the events of Gears of War and is therefore not a direct successor to Gears of War 3 .
