Horst Köhler (born March 20, 1927 ) is a former German soccer player. He played first division football for KWU / Turbine Erfurt from 1949 to 1954 and was GDR football champion in 1954 with Turbine Erfurt .

Athletic career

Although Köhler was part of the senior division team of the company sports association (BSG) KWU / Turbine Erfurt for six years , he never got beyond the role of the substitute player. Although he was used in each season in the five seasons from 1949/50 to 1953/54, he played only 41 of the Erfurt's 156 point games during this time. Most of his missions had Köhler in the seasons 1950/51 with eleven and 1951/52 with eighteen league games, and he came during his league membership only to three point game goals. In the finals during his time, the cup final in 1950 (0: 4) and the playoff for the championship in 1951 (0: 2) , he was not called up. But since he had played in a league game in 1953/54 and Turbine Erfurt ended the season as champions, Horst Koehler was able to adorn himself with the championship title. After 1954 he no longer appeared in higher-class football.
