Horst Mertens

Horst Mertens (born March 9, 1941 in Drewitz ) is a former German politician ( DVU ). From 1998 to 2002 he was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Education and life

Horst Mertens attended elementary school until 1955 and then the agricultural vocational school until 1957. Until forced collectivization in 1960, he worked as a farm worker in his parents' farm. 1960 to 1961 he was a warehouse worker, until 1965 silo worker. 1966 driver and 1966 to 1977 machine worker. He then worked as a forest worker until 1996. After retraining for paver he was in 1997 until 1998, a community worker ( ABM active).

Horst Mertens is single.

politics

Horst Mertens was elected to the state parliament via the state list in the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in 1998 . In the state parliament he was a member of the committee for food, agriculture and forestry. He did not run for the 2002 state elections .
