Horst Siegel (officer)
Horst Siegel (born April 10, 1922 in Coburg ; † 2006 ) was a German officer and author.
Life
Horst Siegel was an officer in the German Wehrmacht . He became a veterinary surgeon after the Second World War and was a colonel in the General Staff until 1981 in the German Armed Forces . Siegel was temporarily a military attaché at the German embassy in Iran. Siegel was President of the Bavarian Soldiers' Union and holder of the Order of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany .
Posthumously, in 2007, Helios Verlag , Aachen published his “subjective-historical-historical chronicle” under the title “Vergebens war aller Mut”, which u. a. Fights on the western front in the Hürtgenwald up to the tank duels on the Ruhr .
