Horst Stelzner will be honored for the season by the then member of the Bundestag and later Chancellor Helmut Schmidt .

Horst Stelzner (born July 29, 1936 in Hamburg ) is a former German athlete and German pentathlon champion . After his sports career, Horst Stelzner worked as a qualified engineer in Germany and abroad. Horst Stelzner was an all-rounder and started for Hamburger SV . In the pentathlon he was German champion in the team classification in 1959, 1961 and 1962.

German Athletics Championships :

  • 1958 : 5th place in the decathlon in the team classification together with Jürgen Hillermann and Klaus-Dieter Emmentahl (14657 points)
  • 1959 : 1st place in the pentathlon in the team competition together with Hermann Salomon and Jürgen Hillermann (9099 points)
  • 1960 : 1st place in the pentathlon in the team competition together with Hermann Salomon and Manfred Bock (9666 points)
  • 1961 : 1st place in the pentathlon in the team classification together with Manfred Bock and Horst Beyer (9384 points),
    • 2nd place in the pentathlon in the individual ranking (3037 points)
  • 1962 : 4th place in the 4 × 400 m relay with Stelzner, Dorau, P. Bock and M. Bock (time: 3: 13.40 min)
    • 5th place in the pentathlon in the team classification together with Peter Bock and Ern (8761 points)
