Horst Urban (goldsmith)

Horst Urban (born November 6, 1939 in Vienna ) is an Austrian gold and silversmith .

After completing his school and military career, Horst Urban began an apprenticeship as a goldsmith and silversmith, which he completed with the master's examination. In 1966 he went to Vienna independently . In 1982 another company was opened in Tulln .

Urban was also involved in the committees of his branch. He was elected to the board of the master's association of gold and silversmiths and then to the committee of the Vienna State Guild. In 1990 Horst Urban was elected deputy guild master and in 1995 he was elected Viennese regional guild master . In 2000 he was confirmed in this position for a further five years. Horst Urban continues to be elected deputy federal guild master and federal professional group chairman of the gold and silversmiths.

In addition to the functions at federal and state level, Horst Urban was also elected to leading positions in international bodies. From April 1996 to the end of 1997 he was Vice President of CIBJO in Sector I (jewelry maker). At the international congress in Las Vegas he was elected President of the CIBJO in Sector I. Horst Urban held this position from the beginning of 1998 to April 2004. At the Hong Kong Congress, he resigned from this position for reasons of age.

Horst Urban is the holder of the professional title Commercial Council . In addition to high awards from the Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Association, Horst Urban was awarded the Silver Medal of the Republic of Austria in October 2003 by Federal Minister Martin Bartenstein .

Horst Urban is married and has a son, Markus Urban. In March 2005, he took over the family business
