Hotel Los Flamingos
Hotel Los Flamingos is a hotel in the Mexican city of Acapulco in the state of Guerrero . It was built in the 1930s and acquired by the so-called Hollywood Gang in the 1950s .
location
The hotel is located on the Avenida Adolfo López Mateos coastal road in the extreme south-west of the city. In the immediate vicinity of the hotel are the island of La Roqueta in front of the city , the beaches of Caleta and Caletilla and the rock of La Quebrada, famous for its cliff divers . The hotel is located on the highest cliff in the Península de las Playas neighborhood , around 150 meters above sea level .
history
In the 1950s, the so-called acquired Hollywood transition to the five-time swimming - Olympic champion and Tarzan actor Johnny Weissmuller the hotel. The "gang" also included Hollywood greats such as John Wayne , Cary Grant , Richard Widmark and Errol Flynn , who celebrated wild parties at this place, which Weissmüller also used privately. Well-known stars like Elizabeth Taylor and Clark Gable were also among the hotel guests.
