The Hothem Cliffs are a series of steep rock cliffs in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Asgard Range, they tower on the north flank of the head end of the Canada Glacier .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1997 after the American geodesist Larry D. Hothem, who had spent the winter at Mawson Station in 1969 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions and worked for the United States Geological Survey from 1991 .
