Hottah Lake is a lake in the Northwest Territories of Canada . Its water area is 840 km², including islands, the total area is 918 km². The lake is located 30 km south of the Great Bear Lake . It is traversed by the Camsell River and drained to the Great Bear Lake.
Legacy
When the Mars rover Curiosity found solid evidence of an old river bed on Mars on a pile of cemented smooth stones ( conglomerates ), the project managers named one of the two rocks Hottah after this lake - the other was called Link.
