How Am I to Know? is a song written by Dorothy Parker (lyrics) and Jack King (music) in 1929 .

The ballad was sung by Russ Colombo in 1929 in the MGM film Dynamite (director: Cecil B. DeMille ), for the film music William Axt , Herbert Stothart and Arthur Lange were responsible. In the same year the song was also performed by Smith Ballew (with Frankie Trumbauer and Eddie Lang ), by Jack Miller with The New Englanders Orchestra (Velvet Tone), Victor Arden - Phil Ohman & Their Orchestra (Victor 22111) and Sam Wooding 's Chocolate Kiddies added.
