Howard Smith (actor)
Howard I. Smith (born August 12, 1893 in Attleboro , Massachusetts , † January 10, 1968 in Hollywood , Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor .
Life
Smith made his debut on February 6, 1917 as a chorister in the theatrical musical You're in Love on Broadway . He made his film debut a year later when he played Jack Doray in the silent drama Young America directed by Arthur Berthelet . From the early 1930s to the mid-1940s he played regularly in the theater, including often on Broadway. When he then moved to Los Angeles , he appeared in films such as The Death of a Salesman , Underworld and Champagne in Paris .
