Huaneng Power International (HPI) is a Chinese company with headquarters in Beijing . The company produces and sells electricity to its customers in China and Singapore . In 2009, HPI was the energy company with the world's highest CO 2 emissions .

Power plants in China

HPI operates dozens of power plants in China with an installed capacity of 66,888  MW (as of June 30, 2014). In the first half of 2014, the power plants generated 151.739 billion kWh .

Foreign participations

In Singapore, HPI holds 100% of the shares in SinoSing Power Pte Ltd , which in turn is 100% owned by Tuas Power Pte Ltd (TP). TP is one of the largest energy suppliers in Singapore.

Shareholders

HPI's share capital is divided into a total of around 14 billion shares, of which 10.5 billion (74.70%) are domestic and 3,555,383.44 (25.30%) foreign shares. The three largest shareholders are (as of 2013):
