Huang Sheng Shyan

Huang Sheng Shyan or Huang Xingxian ( Chinese  黃 性 賢 , Pinyin Huáng Xìngxián , W.-G. Huang Hsing-hsien ; born February 15, 1910 in Minhou County, Fujian Province , Chinese Empire ; † December 21, 1992 ) was a Malaysian Taijiquan - Master of Chinese origin.

Huang Sheng Shyan began training the screaming crane ( Chinese  鸣鹤 , Pinyin Míng hè ), a sub-style of white crane boxing with Xie Zongxiang , at the age of 14 . From 1928 to 1931, Huang Sheng Shyan studied white crane boxing with Master Pan Zhuangnian (潘 桩 年) . When Huang Sheng Shyan moved to Taiwan in 1949 to become a student of Zheng Manqing , he was already a master of martial arts. Zheng Manqing had studied Taijiquan with Yang Chengfu , a grandson of Yang-style founder Yang Luchan . After Huang Sheng Shyan had been examined by Zheng Manqing for three years, Zheng Manqing accepted him as his student, thus fulfilling Master Huang's dream of learning Taijiquan from the educated and generous teacher Zheng Manqing.

In the following 45 years, Huang Sheng Shyan devoted himself to the refinement and further development of Taijiquan in the tradition of Zheng Manqing . In the extensive system of teaching of Master Huang u belonged. a. the Zheng Manqing short form, the long form, the Huang form he developed, the five relaxation exercises he developed, eighteen fixed partner exercises ( Tuishou ), the white crane style and weapon forms.

Huang emigrated to Singapore in 1956 and moved to Malaysia in the 1960s . He was always concerned with the further spread of Taijiquan . At the age of 60, Huang publicly demonstrated his skills in Taijiquan and defeated Liao Kuang-Chen , the then Asian wrestling champion, with 26 to 0 throws at a charity event in Kuching , Malaysia.

By the time of his death, Huang Sheng Shyan had founded 40 schools and taught over 10,000 people in Southeast Asia. Experts consider Huang to be Zheng Manqing's best student .
