The Huaytunas Lake ( Lago Huaytunas ) is a freshwater lake in the pampas region of the South American Andean state Bolivia . Alternative names for the lake are " Lago Rogoaguado ", " Lago Ginebra " ( Lake Geneva ) and " Lago Yajchaja ".
location
The lake is located in the center of the Municipio Exaltación district in the Yacuma province in the Beni department . The Huaytunas lake is located at an altitude of 146 m , forty kilometers northwest of Exaltación , the central place of the municipality on the Río Mamoré , which is connected to the highway via the Ruta 902 . The closest town is San José , ten kilometers southwest of the southern shore of Lake Huaytunas.

The lake extends from north to south over a length of 35 kilometers and has a width of up to 16 kilometers. Its shoreline is 165 km and the water surface is 329.5 km², which makes the lake the largest freshwater lake in the Bolivian lowlands. On the eastern shore of the lake, directly in front of the shore, there are two small islands.
