Hubert Giertz
Hubert Giertz (born April 28, 1884 in Breitscheid ; † January 6, 1966 in Cologne ) was a priest and official in the Archdiocese of Cologne .
Ordained a priest on March 6, 1909 in Cologne , he took on a chaplaincy at St. Engelbert in Essen from April 13, 1909 and one at St. Johann Baptist in Barmen from March 8, 1912 . Since May 9, 1921 assistant to the Vicariate General of the Archdiocese of Cologne, he became secretary there on April 1, 1924. Since June 6, 1928 he has worked as a deputy promoter iustitiae , on November 19, 1931, he was appointed defensor matrimonii and finally on October 14, 1932, he was appointed examining magistrate for matrimonial matters at the Archbishop's Office.
In the meantime, on 15 October 1932. clergy Council honores ad charged, he was on 18 October 1932 Prosynodalexaminator and on 11 December 1933 Vice Offizial . Since April 29, 1937 he has been working as a synod examiner , and on July 4, 1941, he also became the monastery commissioner of the Ursulines in Hersel.
Awarded the title of Pontifical House Prelate on September 21, 1941 , in addition to his other activities, on September 25, 1943, he took over the office of Spiritual of the Cellitinnen from Antonsgasse (today Gleueler Strasse), was appointed Cathedral Capitular on May 28, 1943 , Appointed to the real clergy on October 1, 1943, and appointed official of the Archdiocese of Cologne on December 7, 1943 by Archbishop Joseph Frings .
After he had also assumed the office of chairman of the Diocesan Boniface Society on October 8, 1945 and the office of prosynodal examiners on August 11, 1947, Giertz was relieved of official duties on September 2, 1948, but was re-confirmed as synodal examiners in 1954.
