List of the auxiliary bishops of Cologne

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Like many other bishoprics, the Archdiocese of Cologne originally had only one auxiliary bishop . Since 1889, the number of auxiliary bishops increased to two due to the growing number of Catholics and the age of the archbishop and the already incumbent auxiliary bishop, and then to four in the following decades. The tendency is again to reduce the number. This is also the case in the Archdiocese of Cologne, where there are only three auxiliary bishops today.
