Quirin op dem Veld von Willich (also Quirin von Willich , * in Willich ; † November 9, 1537 in Cologne ) was auxiliary bishop in Cologne .

Life

As titular bishop of Cyrene and auxiliary bishop in Cologne, official acts on March 16, 1519 and May 7, 1525 are documented.

As a theologian and preacher, he spoke out strictly against reformatory tendencies . In 1526 he was appointed pastor of Kempen by Archbishop Hermann V. With the appointment, the archbishop ignored the abbot of Gladbach , Aegidius von Bocholtz, who was actually entitled to the appointment of the pastor of Kempen, who complained about it to the Pope in Rome . Rome did not decide in favor of the abbots until 1554, when Quirin had long since died.

He died in 1537 and after his death was buried in the Augustinian convent of St. Maximin in Cologne.
