Johann Nopel the Elder
Johann Nopel the Elder (* in Lippstadt ; † July 6, 1556 in Cologne ?) Was an auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Cologne and canon in Cologne Cathedral .
Johann Nopel I, titular bishop of Cyrene , stood alongside Johannes Gropper between 1541 and 1547 against the reformation plans of Cologne's Archbishop Hermann V. von Wied . He was buried in Cologne Cathedral.
