Hubert Holzschneider

Hubert Holzschneider (* 1849 ; † 1928 ) was a German doctor and local politician.

Holzschneider worked in his practice in the then independent municipality of Cronenberg (now part of Wuppertal ) from 1874 to 1924 as a doctor and medical adviser. In addition to his work, he was a poor doctor and police doctor. He was also a member of the Medical Chamber of the Rhine Province and an honorary member of the Bergisches Ärzteverein and made a great contribution to the work of the Red Cross .

Politically, he was active from 1888 to 1920 as an alderman and from 1889 as a city ​​councilor , he was also a member of the district council of the Mettmann district . From 1895 to 1927 he was chairman of the trade court.

On July 25, 1924 he received honorary citizenship of the city of Cronenberg. His grave is in the Solinger Strasse cemetery . In 1935 a street in Cronenberg was named after him.
