Hubert Lakner

Hubert Lakner (* 1958 ) is a German physicist , professor at the Technical University of Dresden and head of the Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems (IPMS) .

Life

Lakner studied physics from 1979 to 1986 at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen . He then worked for a year in an industrial company and in 1987 he moved to the University of Duisburg , where he worked on research projects in the field of nano-characterization of mesoscopic compound semiconductor systems and in 1993 with a dissertation on spatially resolved characterization of AlGaAs / InGaAs heterolayers in the scanning transmission electron microscope (RTEM ) for Dr.-Ing. received his doctorate.

From 1994 to 1998 he worked as a senior engineer in the field of high frequency and high speed circuits at the University of Duisburg. He then worked at the Fraunhofer Institute for Microelectronic Circuits and Systems in Dresden until 2002, initially as a department head and in 2002 as managing director.

Since 2003 he has been the managing director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems (IPMS) and professor for "Optoelectronic Components and Systems" at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Technical University of Dresden.

Since January 2011 he has also been the chairman of the directorate of the Fraunhofer Group for Microelectronics.

Lakner is married and has three children. Since 1979 he has been a member of the Catholic student association AV Guestfalia Tübingen .
