Hubert Mallmann

Hubert Mallmann (born February 12, 1910 in Oberhausen ; † January 11, 1994 in Solingen ) was a German politician ( SPD ). He was a city councilor in Solingen and a member of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament for two legislative terms .

Life

After Hubert Mallmann finished elementary school , he worked as a lathe operator . He studied business, labor and social law in evening classes and at trade union schools. Mallmann had been a union member since 1925. He joined the SPD in 1928. In 1947 he became legal secretary in the DGB local committee in Oberhausen until he became executive chairman of the DGB local committee in Solingen in 1950.

Mallmann was elected to the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament in 1954 as a direct candidate for the SPD in constituency 52 (Solingen-Ohligs-Wald-Gräfrath). He held the mandate from July 13, 1954 to July 12, 1958. In 1958 he was not re-elected to the state parliament. In 1961 Mallmann was elected councilor in Solingen. In the state elections the following year he again managed to win constituency 52 (now: Solingen II) as a direct candidate, and was again a member of the state parliament from July 21, 1962 to July 23, 1966.

Honors

Mallmann received the Ring of Honor of the City of Solingen in 1986. On September 2, 1987, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia .

In Solingen, the politician has been honored by a street named after him since 2012, Hubert-Mallmann-Weg in the Höhscheid district.
