Hubert Tison

Hubert Tison (* 1937 in Montreal , Québec ) is a Canadian film producer and graphic artist.

Life

Tison studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Montreal. After completing his studies and training in animation in Zurich , London and for the TV station ORTF in Paris , he worked for Société Radio-Canada from 1966 in the area of ​​opening and closing credits.

In 1968 he became the founder and head of the animation studio of Société Radio-Canada. As such, he was, among other things, the producer of Frédéric Back's films . In 1981 he was awarded the President's Prize of Société Radio-Canada for his work in animation. The animation department was closed in 1989. Tison worked for Société Radio-Canada until 1994. His last collaboration with Back was in 1993 Le fleuve aux grandes eaux , for which he was nominated in 1994 for an Oscar in the category Best Animated Short Film. Since 2005 Tison has mainly worked as a painter and exhibits. In 2012 he was made an honorary member of the Société des designers graphiques du Québec.
