Hubert Zotz (born December 30, 1875 in Nesselwängle in Tyrol ; † July 26, 1960 ) was an Austrian master of plastering who specialized in neo-baroque altars and interior design in the rococo style .

activities

Hubert Zotz comes from the Tyrolean family of artists and scholars, the Zotz family , who produced numerous masters of stucco art such as Lorenz Zotz the Elder , Lorenz Zotz the Younger and Ämilian Zotz . Coming from Tyrol, Hubert Zotz settled in Zug in Switzerland , where he ran his studio with the plasterer Alois Griessl as part of the “Zotz und Griessl” company and mainly worked in Switzerland.

Hubert Zotz and Alois Griessl's atelier worked with the church architect Adolf Gaudy . Zotz and Gaudy shared a retrospective understanding of architecture in that they also wanted to use tried and tested forms of construction and design for new buildings in the sense of historicism and largely forego innovations.
