Lorenz Zotz the Younger
Lorenz Zotz the Younger (born August 3, 1902 in Nesselwängle in Tyrol , † 1985 ) was an Austrian master of plastering .
Act
Lorenz Zotz the Younger came from the Nesselwängler line of the traditional Tyrolean Zotz family , who produced several Catholic theologians and church artists. Lorenz often worked with his brother Ämilian Zotz in a studio on the interior design of church buildings. In the 1960s, Ämilian and Lorenz Zotz worked for more than two years on the design of the “Assumption of Mary” church in Nesselwängle, where, among other things, an altar was built to enclose the relics of the martyr Apollinaris of Ravenna .
In his decorative art, Lorenz Zotz the Younger was influenced by the effects of the so-called Wessobrunn School , which radiated from the Benedictine Abbey of Wessobrunn in Upper Bavaria to Tyrol in particular in the field of stucco work and also shaped the practice of ornamentation of the Zotz dynasty. Lorenz Zotz the Younger was known for his ceiling designs and pilasters in stucco marble , which he realized in the Alpine region and in southern Germany.
