Hubertus von Grünberg

Hubertus Eberhard Horst von Grünberg (born July 20, 1942 in Swinoujscie ) is a German manager.

family

Grünberg comes from a noble family from the Neumark, first mentioned in a document in the 13th century, and is the son of the designer Karl Friedrich von Grünberg (1911–1995) and Christel Michaelis (1915– ??). Marshal Blücher was one of his ancestors . He married Ursula Maria Hofmann (born May 5, 1947 in Frankfurt am Main ) in Kronberg im Taunus on December 17, 1976 , the daughter of the apprentice locomotive driver Willi Hofmann and Charlotte Rudolph.

Life

In 1951 Grünberg and his family fled to West Germany. After high school in Remscheid , he studied physics at the University of Cologne and was established in 1970 with a dissertation on a theory of relativity at Peter Mittelstaedt doctorate .

After working at several automotive suppliers, he became CEO of Continental AG in 1991 . In 1999 he switched to their supervisory board . From 2007 to 2015 he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ABB Group; he was followed by Peter Voser .
