Hubertus von Stackelberg
Hubertus von Stackelberg (* 1953 in Ludwigsburg ) is a German musician and former national basketball player .
Hubertus von Stackelberg started his sporting career as a handball player and after switching to basketball he became a junior national player at the age of 17. He played at SpVgg 07 Ludwigsburg in the first team, with which he was promoted to the basketball league in 1980 . During this time he was appointed to the German national team several times. After his active career, he was chairman of BSG Basket Ludwigsburg until 2005 .
In addition to pedagogy, German and sport, Hubertus von Stackelberg studied trumpet in orchestral music at the Stuttgart University of Music . As a trumpeter he has worked at the Heilbronn Theater , the Pforzheim City Theater , the Bach Collegium Stuttgart , the Collegium Instrumentale Stuttgart and the orchestra of the Wiblinger Bachtage in Ulm .
Hubertus von Stackelberg taught until January 2019 as a professor for aesthetics, culture and music at the Evangelical University of Ludwigsburg and also works as a freelance chamber musician . Together with Klaus-Ulrich Dann and Matthias Jauß, he founded the Ludwigsburg Brass Quintet (LBQ) in 1985 and released several CDs.
After the local elections on July 7, 2009 , he moved into the Ludwigsburg municipal council as a member of the SPD and is on the committee for education, sport and social affairs.
