Hugh McCann

Hugh James McCann (born February 8, 1916 in Dublin , † 1981 ) was an Irish diplomat.

During his diplomatic career he was Ambassador to the United Kingdom from 1958 to 1962 , State Secretary in the Irish Foreign Ministry from 1963 to 1974 , and then from 1974 to his retirement, Ambassador to France , Permanent Representative of Ireland to UNESCO , from May 7th 1974 Permanent Representative of Ireland to the OECD and since 1975 also Irish non-resident Ambassador to Morocco .
