Franz Hugo Edmund Count Beissel von Gymnich (* July 12, 1798 , † April 22, 1863 in Paris ) was a Rhenish landowner and politician.

Beissel came from the old Rhenish counts of the Beissel von Gymnich family . He was the third child and eldest son of Franz Ludwig Count Beissel von Gymnich from his first marriage to Johanna Freiin von Freiberg-Hofferau. The district administrator of the Schleiden district, Richard Beissel von Gymnich (1802–1879), was his younger brother. A half-brother, Friedrich, came from his father's second marriage. His son Otto Graf Beissel von Gymnich (1851–1931) was later also a member of the manor house.

Beissel's first marriage was to Therese Baroness von Fürstenberg-Neheim (1800–1850) and his second marriage to Maria Countess Borggraf d'Altena. Both marriages remained childless.

Life

Beissel was the royal Prussian chamberlain and knight of the Bavarian Order of St. George . He was the lord of the Fideikommissgüter Blens , Schmidtheim and others. From 1854 until his death in 1863 he was a member of the Prussian manor house on presentation of the Count's Association of the Rhine Province.
